I graduated from Temple University in 2010 and taught K-6 elementary general and choral music in fully contracted positions for 6 years following graduation. I have previously taught 2nd grade in a general elementary education setting, which was an amazing learning experience. I currently teach middle school choral and general music music and absolutely love it! Everyday is an adventure! I have vast experience teaching in very diverse, urban Title I public schools. I also have 2 years suburban experience teaching military children in grades K-6 in Alexandria, Virginia, which was an incredible experience while we were stationed in Virginia. Go Army! I also have my PreK-4th grade general elementary school teaching certification for the state of Pennsylvania.
I try to have a very fun, hands on approach to keep students engaged and listening during class. While learning about various musical concepts is important, I also try to instill life skills into each and every class so that students learn how to be successful and skilled members of society as they learn and grow. Musically I use a lot of Kodaly and Orff in my classroom!
