TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I hold six years of ELA teaching experience in grades 9-12 with multiple academic tracts covered, including College Prep inclusion classes and even Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate sections of ELA. I serve as the English Department Chair at my school and a member of the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment teacher committee.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I utilize a student & project centered focus that is fueled by cross-cultural exploration, text analysis, and class discussions. I mix pedogogy and andragogy to gradually release my students to educational ownership.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been acknowledged for exceeding growth in my EVAAS standardized testing data. I lead professional develop both inside and outside of my school. Most recently, I presented at the College Board national conference for African American education on engaging classroom strategies that target minority scholars.
