TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a special educator, I have had the pleasure of working with many types of students of varying ages. In fact, I have worked with pre-k all the way to the college level! My experience has been mostly in self-contained classrooms for children with multiple disabilities. I started out working in an ABA program for children with autism and went on to teach special education in a traditional elementary school. Currently I am a stay at home mother with my two young boys and sometimes teach education courses at a local college and tutor on the side.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style is hands-on, multi-sensory, student centered...and fun!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I received the honor of "Employee of the Year" twice in a row while serving as head supervisor of a tutoring program. I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in the field of education. I am also a member of Council for Exceptional Children, the premier association for special education professionals.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a BA in Psychology and Education, and a Master's Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education.
