* Grant from Tufts for an internship to teach in Lexington, MA * 1st Grade Teacher - 6 years * 1st Grade Team Leader - 2 years * Mentor Teacher - 1 year * Lead teacher K-3 summer program for children with special needs (Autism, social/emotional needs, ADHD...) - 4 years * Destination Imagination Teacher (1st - 3rd) - 3 years * Sunday School Teacher (pre-K - 5th) - 3 years * Mother of 3 :) * Currently a Preschool teacher (ages 2.9 - 5yrs.) for children with and without disabilities.

Our goal is appreciate how each child is unique and celebrate his/her differences. It is important for ALL students to feel capable, valued, heard, seen, and empowered to take the necessary risks involved in meaningful learning. We pride ourselves on creating differentiated lessons with clear objectives that are designed to reach each student. It is important to focus on the whole child, have realistic, individual goals and teaching strategies that are constantly reevaluated based upon ongoing assessment. We seek to meet children where they are and stretch them just enough for them to be challenged and feel the pride of accomplishment, without being overwhelmed. Children’s social emotional needs must be met so they can effectively access the curriculum. Children are naturally curious. As teachers, we need to embrace this desire so they become life-long learners. Just as important, is nurturing character traits such as, integrity, teamwork, empathy, and creativity.
