I've had over 20 years experience working in the classroom, I started as a teacher’s assistant in college, but I've spent most of my full time teaching days as a third grade classroom teacher. Between after school art classes, private art classes, tutoring, etc. I've worked with students of all ages.
Standards based hands-on learning integrating art lessons into as much as I possibly can. I believe that ANYONE can teach art given the correct lesson plan. The philosophy that I teach is to always do YOUR "Personal Best."
I don't like to brag, but I have been voted "Favorite Teacher" by my own students year after year. That and some other small honors and awards here and there.
I graduated with from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Education, minoring in Studio Arts. I completed my teaching credential through California State Long Beach and went on to earn a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.
