I am a kindergarten teacher and Early Literacy Specialist with over 17 years of experience in primary education.
It is well understood that children learn naturally through active play. Play is, by definition, a child-friendly activity. When children engage in active play, their attention and learning retention is high. Eyewords materials are designed to make learning to read enjoyable, as young readers learn the high frequency words through experiences of touching, moving, seeing and hearing. Eyewords sight words marries whole word and phonetic approaches to reading the high frequency words and utilizes components from all modalities at one time.
Eyewords Sight Words and teaching methodology has received attention and acclaim and is currently the focus of research being conducted through Stanford University's School of Education. Eyewords was featured in the May Edition of Beat Magazine.
