After many years of working with special needs students in an urban setting, I have retired. While I still consult part time with the schools, I have also begun to pursue my second passion photography. What better way to combine my two interests but to assist teachers looking for photos for educational purposes.
I worked with very young children with autism but also consulted with teachers working on the entire elementary level. I loved the challenge of these children and the enthusiasm of the teachers with whom I worked. Creativity and varied approaches were a must as well as being flexible and open minded.
During my teaching career I received the " Golden Apple" for teacher of the year. I also received a plaque in appreciation of my advocacy for Children with Autism from the Teamsters Local 25 Autism Fund. The Lee School also honored me as the founder of the Autism Program in Boston Public Schools
I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northeastern University in Boston Masters Degree in Counseling from Boston State College Certified teacher : Elementary Education Special Needs Early Childhood special needs Elementary Counseling
