Fairies and Lesson Plans

Hi! I’m Adriana, the teacher creating for Fairies and Lesson Plans, and I’d love to share my story with you! I was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years. While I was in the classroom it was always a challenge to find resources that I wanted to use with my students. Most of the activities being used around me had a lot of “fluff” and not enough content. So much paper was being wasted in copies that didn’t have enough practice on the page. To remediate the problem, I spent countless hours making the activities, practice sheets, and assessments that I wish I could find. I wanted to make sure that the time my students spent on any assignment was time well spent. I believe (and you probably agree), that it’s important to use materials that are age appropriate, that are engaging, and that have rigorous educational value. It’s also important to make resources that are practical! The resources I made were well organized, easy to use, printer friendly, and quick to incorporate into my lessons. Those are the kinds of resources that I continue to develop now that I am a full-time resource creator. Many of my buyers tell me that they have used my resources year after year, and that their kids really enjoy the activities. My goal when I started Fairies and Lesson Plans was to make those materials available to you so you could spend less of your time looking for resources to use, and more time with your family. I hope you take a moment to look at some of my previews, and I hope my resources resonate with you. I always cultivated a warm, positive atmosphere in my classroom. I expected my students to always to their best, and I always gave them mine. I believe that in order for great things to happen in a classroom, you have to establish a loving rapport with your students, and we all have to regard each other with respect. I always tried to catch them being good praised them often. I believe positive reinforcement works better than taking things away.

I have two daughters who fill my life with joy, and since moving in with my partner, three cats! You can find me Swing and Blues dancing most Friday nights, or Contradancing on weekends. I'm a big fan of Brene Brown, Eckhart Tolle, Kyle Cease, and Jonathan Fields. I watch them, listen to them, and read them. I'm into healthy living, and do the meditation and the yoga thing pretty consistently. Just like the resources I make, my food is cooked fresh from scratch, in my kitchen everyday, with love and tender care. I'm a work in progress in every way, and grateful for second chances!
