I have been in the trenches teaching since 1997. I have taught in a private church preschool, Head Start, in a public school pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. I have been a teaching artist for a local museum for the last 6 years where I have taught all ages - including adults! I have lead workshops for teachers for over 10 years!
Honestly, I teach with a combination of 3 approaches 1.) I teach to the whole child - the heart, the head and the hands. In this academically driven culture - I am very creative in finding the most effective ways of honoring what I know children need and fulfilling what my district needs 2.) I infuse my curriculum with the arts - this brings differentiated instruction to my classroom with ease and power. 3.) I teach with passion - I believe that curriculum is lifeless without the teacher. We got the mojo! My curriculum is fueled by teacher passion!
