I am currently starting my 12th year of teaching first grade. I have experience working with ESL students, students from other grade levels, gifted students, and students with learning disabilities. I have loved every second of it and there is nothing I'd rather do!
My teaching style is an organized, but laid back style. I love using centers, graphics, colors, and technology in my classroom. Most of the time I introduce a new standard using my Activboard, transition into centers that have games or activities that focus on that standard, and then have my students work on transferring information learned onto recording sheets that support that standard. I truly believe that learning should be fun!
2009 - Teacher of the Year
I graduated with my BS in Early Childhood Education from Point University in 2002. I graduated with my MEd from Troy University in 2010.
I live in Georgia and my lessons are centered around the Common Core Standards. I love creating a combination of writing craftivities, centers, themed units, and packets that can be used as review, assesments, morning work, or homework.
