So here is a little bit about me. I just completed my twentieth year of teaching. I have spent my entire career at a Title I school teaching first, third, and fourth grades. My school is 1:1 with Chromebooks, so I incorporate technology throughout my day. I also have experience working with ESL students, students from other grade levels, gifted students, and students with learning disabilities.
My teaching style is an organized, but laid back style. I like to incorporate fun activities and lessons into my classroom. While I expect my students to stay on task, when they are working independently I often allow them to sit where they would like and to work in small groups.
A few things I have done/accomplished over the last twenty years are: - Named 2009 Teacher of the Year - Presented for the I Teach First Conference - Presented in my county about writing - Organized/planned our school yearbook and field day - Family Engagement Coordinator for our school - Have participated in our School Building Leadership Team, our PBIS team, and our PTO
I graduated with my BS in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Biblical Studies from Point University in 2002. I graduated with my MEd with a concentration in instructional technology from Troy University in 2010.
I live in Georgia and my lessons are centered around the state standards and Common Core standards. I love creating a combination of writing craftivities, centers, themed units, and packets that can be used as review or assessments.
