I will begin my 16th year of teaching in August. I have spent my entire career at a Title I school teaching first and third grades. My school is 1:1 with Chromebooks for third through fifth grades, so I incorporate technology into most lessons. I also have experience working with ESL students, students from other grade levels, gifted students, and students with learning disabilities. I have loved every second of it and there is nothing I'd rather do!
My teaching style is an organized, but laid back style. I like to incorporate fun activities and lessons into my classroom. While I expect my students to stay on task, when they are working independently I often allow them to sit where they would like.
2009 - Teacher of the Year
I graduated with my BS in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Biblical Studies from Point University in 2002. I graduated with my MEd with a concentration in instructional technology from Troy University in 2010.
I live in Georgia and my lessons are centered around the state standards and Common Core standards. I love creating a combination of writing craftivities, centers, themed units, and packets that can be used as review, assesments, morning work, or homework.
