I have 30 plus years experience teaching English to non-native speakers. I have done materials development in EFL, creating an entire English video course. I have taught over seas, in the US, and online.
My goal in life is to get students to talk. Once they start talking we can work on pronunciation and grammar. But we can't do anything until they talk. My materials are picture-rich so students will understand the vocabulary and unusual enough to pique the students' interest.
Idaho Bilingual Teacher of the Year 2004 Board of Directors, International Centre for Women Playwrights since 2011 THE POSTMODERNIST produced in the Summer 2016 Midtown International Theatre Festival
I earned a B.A. in English from Lewis-Clark State College and a M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Idaho. But my most important education has come through reading and the study of people and of life. I am a self-taught artist and playwright, life-long learner, and gardener.
I enjoy art (www.saatchiart.com/mcurtis) writing, history (Facebook: 365 Holidays a Year), languages, and of course teaching.
