I have taught Business and Marketing subjects for 28 years. The one class I LOVE and have taught every year is Fashion (Fashion Merchandising, Advanced Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Strategies, etc) At one point, I was teaching 7 periods of fashion! I helped write the fashion curriculum for my state (Utah) a few times and have spoken at many conferences as well. I have taken students on a fashion trip to NYC 13 times and am planning another one for next year. I am also the CTE Director at my school.
My teaching style is using a lot of powerpoints with guided notes and class discussion, followed by projects. I like to tell stories and share experiences.
I was the Utah Marketing Teacher of the Year in 2004. At my school, I was the first ever recipient of the "Golden Apple" (teacher of the year) Award.
I went to Snow College for my Associates Degree, then attended BYU_Hawaii campus for a semester, then on to Utah State University where I got my BS in Marketing/Business Education. I have nearly 70 post-graduate credits.
I love fashion, travel, photography, gardening, teaching and my family! I have traveled to NYC about 40 times, leading groups of students or groups of adults as well as trips with my family. I will take my 5th trip to Europe this summer!
