I started out my teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher and then went on to teach 1st grade for 3 years after that. All the while, I was also tutoring for other grade levels during non-school hours in a small group setting. This school year, we moved back to our home state of Georgia. I started my 5th year of teaching as a 1st grade teacher in my DREAM county before finding out 1 month in that I was to be displaced. It all was perfect! Every aspect of the new school, from the distance it was from my home to the structure of the day, was absolutely wonderful! One catch though...I would be switching grades. I landed myself in the BEST team I've ever had the pleasure of working with! AND...Welcome to the world of 5th grade! I was nervous and excited but most of all, I was working my tush off to make sure I was ready for my new kiddos. Once I brought in all the resources I made, my new team gushed over them and recommended I put them up on TpT. ...So here I am! :)
To be honest, I'm perfectly content with my first grade teaching style:) I ran a student led classroom with a power teaching focus. Now, I have to find my way in my new setting and I'm not really sure what kind of teaching style I have as a fifth grade teacher. I really have delved into Interactive Notebooks!
