This is my 28th year in Education! I am currently Elementary K-6 Certified with ELL and Gifted Endorsements in two states. I have over 28 years teaching experience and being a Navy Wife, I've had to move and change grade levels frequently, giving me a wide range of experience. I have taught Gifted, Bi-Lingual 4th, Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th grade. I have also taught Adult Education Technology Classes for Administrators and Teachers. My favorite job was being the district ESE Technology Curriculum Specialist and Network Administrator for my home town district, Clay County, Florida, as well as the Teacher of the Year. I now create TPT resources full time for elementary school teachers. I remember how much extra time was spent at home creating hands-on learning resources so my students could go that extra mile, so they could actually learn and not just learn how to take a standardize test. I pray that my resources can give teachers some extra free time away from the classroom with their family and friends. I love knowing that I can help many teachers all over the World with my TPT resources.
I am passionate about using hands-on centers, mini-lessons and Guided Reading in the primary classroom! Next, instill a love for literature in children. Build a strong foundation in the youngest, primary children with literature, vocabulary, spelling & writing and everything else will fall into place, including Math & Science!
I hit the ground running my first year with being nominated for the Beginning Teacher of the Year for my district. Later, I was also the Teacher of the Year. Being a Navy Wife on the move has allowed me to accept different positions, and gain a wide variety of grade level and subject level experiences in both Texas and Florida.
I am a PROUD Seminole from the Florida State University with a BS in Elementary Education. Later I earned a Gifted Endorsement from University of North Florida. I am constantly continuing my education in computers and technology, including two summers at NASA's Astronauts Memorial Foundation, as well as becoming a Microsoft Office User Specialist.
