TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching in a California elementary school for almost 30 years--and I have taught sixth grade for the last 14 years. I teach all subject areas, with my favorites being math and social studies. My goals in the classroom include encouraging students to value themselves and to care about each other. While teaching "tweenagers" is sometimes a challenge, it continues to be what makes my heart happy!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My hope is to always teach "the whole child." I try to provide lessons in my classroom that are multi-modal and can be differentiated to meet students' varying skill levels.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am "awarded" and rewarded each day by the opportunity to teach sixth graders!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have teaching experience and credentials in both general education and special education--and both get put into practice each day!
