TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've had 12 years' experience as a high school English teacher - primarily teaching American Literature, AP Language and Composition, and World Literature. I began my career in inner-city Washington DC and currently work with students in a suburb outside Chicago.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my classroom, I foster a student-centered environment that fundamentally relies on close reading of text and skills-based assessments. Highly individualized assessments offer students opportunities for divergent thinking and authentic inquiry.
