I have been teaching for six years and during that time have taught K, 1st, 2nd grade, and middle school science. I am currently teaching 4th - 6th grade gifted math and reading. My previous career was in architectural and interior design and I bring a love of design and form follows function to all that I do in education. I hold K-12 Reading and K-12 Gifted Endorsements.
I love learning through inquiry and exploration.I use both the Arizona State Science Standards and Common Core in my classroom as the framework for my lesson plans and units.
My greatest award is the success of my students! I love working with kids and nurturing their self-esteem and achievement.
I am a K-8 certified teacher with a Reading Specialist and Gifted endorsement. I am currently working on a Masters in Science Education. I have a Bachelor's in Architectural Design from Arizona State University and was an architectural and interior designer for 20 years. I went back to school in 2008 to become credentialed in K-8 elementary education and have never looked back! My husband, an architect, joined me in the teaching world as a High School Math teacher 4 years ago and we both love teaching.
I am the wife of an amazing husband that I am proud to be married to for 26 years and have two wonderful children, a 9th grade girl and a 6th grade boy. I teach gifted reading and math at an A-rated K-6 school. In my spare time I love creating, reading, and spending time trying to keep up with my very active family.
