I had an amazing student teaching experience at Texas A&M with my second graders, and am so thankful I was able to get my foot in the door with a wonderful cooperating teacher. After graduation, I went on to teach first grade for seven years. When I decided to stay home with my three kids, I had the opportunity to substitute teach all grades K-5. I also volunteered at my church for fifth grade religious education. I've also been able to work online with ESL students ages 4-12. I have been creating materials for young learners for over a decade now, and am so excited to share my favorite activities and lessons with others on TPT.
I always found that the most valuable time with my students was in small groups or one-on-one; for myself and for them! As a result, I was always looking for ways to keep my other students engaged in academic learning, while I worked on guided reading, guided math, and other small groups throughout the day. I found myself creating many activities and printables for my students, as well as my teammates, and my kids always looked forward to their independent working time. The kids were able to self-check, as well as work with partners, to exchange ideas and grow in their own learning.

I am happily married, and have three beautiful children ages four, two, and 3 months. My husband has always been my biggest fan when it comes to teaching. We truly admire educators and the hours of hard work they put in to such a selfless job.
