I have been an Intermediate teacher for 8 years and I love what I do! I recently graduated and received my Masters in Education in Literacy. It was this program that made me realize that my teaching style was not for me or my students. Two years ago I began researching about "Flexible Classrooms" and did it ever change my view of teaching. I created a plan to transform my classroom which is what I will share with you. I hope this helps your transform your classroom to a more student centered mindset!
My teaching style is non traditional and I no longer stand at the front of the class to teach lessons. I have transformed the way I teach and the physical appearance of my classroom. I have so many great initiatives from assessment pieces to specific lessons to make to "maker spaces" I have incorporated a flexible classroom into my teaching style. Whereby, my classroom had transformed into a student center learning environment. I have many strategies to incorporate the flexible classroom if you are just beginning!

I have an Honours BA in Sociology, Bachelors of Education and a Masters in Education in Literacy.
Everything I feature on my page is something I have personally used in my grade 8 classroom. I have spent a lot of time on each item and I take pride in knowing that my students have become critical and creative thinkers, collaborators and great communicators. I have been fortunate enough to have had my flexible classroom come to life after much planning and I cannot wait for you come on this journal with me!
