I began teaching first grade, a class of students who were English Learners. From there, I moved to 2nd Grade, where I taught all content areas, for 11 years. Last year, I given the challenge of teaching 3rd and 4th Grade, Reading and Language Arts, as inclusion model with General Ed, ESE and ELL students. This was an amazing opportunity because I was challenged in the area of Reading, and I was successful meeting the needs of all students, including Special Ed. students who need so much support and reinforcement in the skills, as well as the English Learners, who need so much pratice with visuals and auditory skills.
I truly believe in the Whole Language Concept when teaching. I like to integrate the content areas when teaching so that the learning experiences are meaningful for my students. I enjoy bringing real life experiences to my in my lessons so that my students see a purpose for learning.

For many years, my friends and co-workers have appreciated all the materials I create that I share at my school. They always said I should open a business and sell my ideas because I love creative materials to enhance my Reading program. I am so glad that I am a member of this group and I look forward to sharing ideas with other members.
