I have spent most of my teaching career in 5th grade (in Virginia) teaching all subjects, but I am currently an instructional coach and serving as the enrichment teacher for all grades
I love to make learning FUN for kids and teachers! I love to incorporate movement, singing, differentiation, and technology into my lessons and activities! Learning should be FUN for everyone!
Named a Virginia Teacher of Promise by James Madison University in 2004, National Board Certified Teacher in 2012
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from Averett University in Danville, VA with a teaching certification, Master's Degree (MS) in Educational Leadership from Radford University in Radford, VA.
I am a wife and mommy to two little boys, ages 6 and 2. My older son is twice exceptional (gifted and special needs) and we've been living the IEP life with multiple diagnoses (autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, sleep dysfunction, anxiety) for quite some time now. I have had to work hard, sometimes even fight, to get him what he needs, and it has made me all the more determined to help teachers be their best selves for their students. I'm spreading the love of teaching and learning for ALL students everywhere I go!
