TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught math at different grade levels for 21 years to students from a variety of backgrounds and have had experience writing curriculum. I base a lot of my activities on what recent brain research tells us about how people learn. I love watching the kids get excited when they figure out an algorithm or catch on to the deeper meaning of a concept.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe for students to truly understand the material being taught they need to be actively engaged in their learning process. This means creating and implementing activities in which the teacher is a facilitator and the students are collaborating in order to gain a deeper understanding of the concept.
