Hi Everyone! I have taught for 30 years- 3+ years GED/basic skills and 27 years in ESL... ages from 13 to seniors. I was a teacher trainer in a ELL endorsement/certificate program. I currently teach ELL at a community college to primarily young adults. I teach basic math as well as ELL.
I would describe my teaching style as student-centered and Socratic. I aim to teach to a variety of learning styles, and I am very organized. I believe that the students have to see their own lives and interests in the materials and pedagogy I use. I like to have a fun. I see learning as team-work between myself and the students. When I catch some thing which interests them, the job of learning is half done.
Teacher of the Year award at my college in 2008.

My husband was a teacher and now is an educational researcher. He and I run three websites- restore ged fairness (dot) org... coalition to protect our public schools (dot) org and weapons of mass deception dot org.
