Over the course of my 20 years as a high school teacher, I have taught everything a high school can offer from general 9th-12th grade English to AP Literature as well as a plethora of elective classes, including the school newspaper, which I advised for 18 years.
My style varies depending on student needs and the expectations of the class. There is no one way or right way to teach.
The only award I am truly proud of is Teacher of the Year (student choice) at my high school in 2008.

I earned a bachelor's degree in English Teaching with a minor in Journalism as well as a master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology--both from Utah State University. After my undergraduate experience, I wandered for a while as a technical writer and private pilot before I returned to my true home in a language arts classroom where I have taught for 20 years in Cache Valley, Utah. I am happily married and have four children.
