I am a special education teacher in Atlanta, Georgia. When I graduated from Samford University in May 2014 with a BS in Elementary Education, I will received four teaching certifications: Early Childhood, Special Education, Collaborative Elementary Education and Elementary Education. In order to achieve my degree, I have completed over 2,000 clinical hours and had many learning opportunities in teaching placements in Alabama and California. I believe these experiences qualify me for teaching in any classroom. Some specific teaching examples include working with an ESL Kindergarten class in Southern California. In this classroom, I assisted a teacher working with children whose primary language was Spanish. Specific actions taken during this experience include working with children on reading skills and teaching Kindergarten teachers how to use Core 5 technology applications to use within their classroom. Another example was a with 3rd grade class in Birmingham where I created a lesson on fractions. The lesson was very well received, allowing the children to have complete understanding of the material. I also received many positive comments from the faculty regarding the creativity and success of the lesson. Please let me know if you need me to make you anything for your classroom or any questions. Thank you for looking at my profile.
