TEACHING EXPERIENCE

MY TEACHING STYLE

Forged in Fire supports parents and educators challenged by youth with disruptive behaviors for which usual strategies and interventions are ineffective. Neurophysiology informs the individualized training and support programs designed by Forged in Fire. This stress becomes toxic to the brain and body when it overwhelms the young person’s coping skills. Through training and support programs Forged in Fire equips professionals and parents to recognize the signs of toxic stress so they are able to surround the children and youth with neurophysiological interventions.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Rosie Mann and Maria McComsey met 12 years ago at Schrieber Pediatric Rehab Center, they have been friends and colleagues ever since. After years of being involved in the mental health and educational systems, Rosie and Maria have partnered to share their knowledge about children and adolescents that have experienced adverse childhood experiences. They are advocates for the whole child. They specialize in educating students, parents, school personnel and districts about the neurosequential model of education and explain trauma in a way that makes the learner understand how the brain works and how we can overcome adversities. For more information about neurosequential model of education and therapies please visit http://childtrauma.org/nmt-model/ . Each of us is molded and formed by the series of experiences we call life. We are who we are because of what we have experienced. Each of us hopes that we will be molded and formed by more pleasurable experiences, then painful ones. This is not always the case. Some of us are formed by so many painful and challenging experiences we begin to question our worth and our purpose. Why are we being held to the fire this way? We are being held to the fire because our purpose requires strength that very few people possess. Steel is stronger once forged in the fire, and we are stronger for our experiences. We become unique in our strength, shape, and ability. To find out more about our trauma education programs, please email info@fifpa.com or call: 717-419-4580
