TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Virginia is a committed Christian educator who enthusiastically embraces each teaching and learning opportunity and aims to make it a valid experience for each of her students. Virginia believes every child is capable of academic, spiritual and personal growth. I believe I am: • A woman of Faith and profound theology • Dedicated to enthusiastic and dynamic teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in children. • An Exceptional Literacy and Numeracy Teacher • A Leading Creative Arts Educator • Experienced in use of the Internet and educational software • Experienced Liturgist

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am keen to develop and engage students in ways that meet their individual learning style. I rely heavily on establishing routines that allow children the freedom to discover and wonder, whilst ensuring that the desired learning outcomes are met. The structure of lessons allow for plenty of modelled and guided teaching as well as independent practise.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have experience as a Religious Education Coordinator, during that time I also had several opportunities to step into the role of Assistant Principal. For many years I have coordinated a variety of creative and performing arts events, art shows, school concerts and 12 Wakakirri and J Rock Productions. A career highlight was as a Diocesan Coordinator for Jubilee 2000 at ACER Arena. I have also been involved in many parish, school and Diocesan liturgical celebrations, including director of music for Opening Schools Mass and Year Six Cluster Masses. In 2003/2004 I led a team of classroom professionals in a Creative Arts Project. With the team I developed learning experiences and resources, as well as providing an adult education experience. I facilitated numerous staff professional development days for schools in the Broken Bay Diocese. I was also a member of the Primary School Review team, auditing curriculum for over twenty schools.
