I am a homeschool teacher. I've taught my eldest children from preschool through 1st grade at home. My children eldest kiddos have some unique needs and all my resources will reflect this. I have worked tiredlessly to find resources for my kiddos on this site and many others, and have tried very hard not to break my bank in purchasing resources for them. I have adapted many lessons to their unique needs, and will continue to do so.
I am a strong believer in group instruction for the younger grades, as students feed off of each other's knowledge to gain their own. I am also a firm believing in walking students through their instruction at these early grades, guiding them through problems until they are answering and repeating your instructions. Each student learns at their own pace, and they should be given independent practice, but not all students will be ready for it, and until they understand and can model how to solve a problem, it's better to guide them then for them to create bad habits solving problems incorrectly.

I was educated in the public school system of San Diego Unified School District. I went to a Math/Science Magnet for elementary, I was in the honors programs for Junior High, and in Highschool I started out in the International Bachloret program, but opted to end my highschool career in independent study where I graduated over a year early. I have attened college, and was going to attain my teaching credential to teach in a private school in hopes of getting my kids in to give them a better education. I decided that after my second child I was not going to be able to do my in class training as required, and that I didn't need to be in a classroom to be able to teach my students, so I continue to educate myself on Response to Intervention techniques, and other ways to keep my kids focused while in the classroom.
I was a foster parent for 5 years, and in so helped 13 kiddos go from below average to top of their class in reading, writing, and math skills. I have adopted 2 special needs kiddos who I have been teaching since they were 2 trying to close the gap between where they are and where they should be had they had the start in life they deserved. I also have 2 biological daughters, one of which will start preschool officially this year and who can't wait to be in school like her older siblings. The other one is 1, and likes to climb in the desks and participate as well. I don't have the time to create random things, so be sure that everything I post is something I've created and used with my own children.
