I have a lot of experience in manipulating information for easy consumption. I've written manuals, made websites, maintained blogs, and navigated the digital world my whole life. I find this gives me a unique perspective when designing lessons and activities. That being said, I have taught a range of academic levels. From specialized and focused small-classroom setups to large IB classrooms, I've had a taste of it all. Most of my experiences stems from teaching grades 9-12.
I love to teach by incorporating both technology and my creative skills in the classroom to create a fun and dynamic learning experience for my students. I aspire to incorporate my European, Métis, and Anishinaabe heritages in my lesson planning. I strive to include minority groups wherever I can while adopting land-based learning techniques practiced by my ancestors. I also think relating to the students' interests is also vital for successful teaching, so subject matter in my lessons sometimes refer to the pop culture of the time.

When not teaching, I try to keep in touch with my roots by participating in hand drumming circles, smudging and other activities. I also enjoy photography, working in photoshop (yes, for fun!), and playing with my golden retriever.
