Second year Grade Four teacher at Faith Academy in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
I prefer to be a "tour guide" for my students to guide them through their learning, giving them implicit instruction when it is needed and then stepping back to let them make of their learning what they will. Learning is different for every single student who walks through our door from day to day, year to year. Their learning approach will change and we need to change with them. Being a "tour guide" incoroporates flexibility and an outsider type of view that can help students internalize their learning by showing them what we as teachers think and view and asking where they can go from there.
