TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a certified K-6 teacher in Connecticut with a Master's degree. I have taught fourth, fifth and sixth grades. I currently teach 4th grade math and social studies. I have taught reading, writing, and science as well. I have been teaching for 8 years and prior to that I spent 15 years in the business world. I made a change into education to fulfill a dream of teaching!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love injecting real world examples into all of my lessons. I am a heavy user of technology so most of my lessons have a technological element to them. I put all of my lessons on my classroom website including tutorial videos (www.homeworknook.com). My role is to spark an interest in learning and let the students discover the material.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2015-16 I received Teacher of the Year for my school district. Prior to that I received a TAPS recognition award and I am a member of Pi Lamda Theta.
