I have thirteen years of teaching experience in a Title I public school in a rural area. I have taught grades 2, 3, 4, and 5. I have worked in every type of instructional setting: inclusion, partner teacher, team teaching, and self-contained. In second, third, fourth and fifth grade, I have taught all subjects.
I enjoy hands-on conceptual teaching. I believe that students need to learn both basic skills and how think critically for a well rounded education. Schools need to collaborate in order to educate parents on how to help their child be a successful, life-long learner.

I have a Bachelor of Science, Master's in Elemetentary Education (Grades 1-8), and a Specialist Degree from Louisiana State University. I am also a certified reading specialist. Currently, I am a doctoral student at LSU.
I am a mother of Isaac, who is six, and Caleb, who is three. When not teaching and preparing to teach, I enjoy playing with my sons and sleeping (though not nearly enough).
