TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am the author of NSTA's "Creative Writing in Science: Activities that Inspire". I also write a column for NSTA's Science Scope magazine called "Interdisciplinary Ideas", which focuses on integrating science and literacy. I have taught for 17 years, from 3rd grade (self contained) to high school biology (while teaching in Tanzania). Most of my career has been teaching 6th grade. I write children's books that creatively approach learning science, such as "Geology is a Piece of Cake" and "The Acadia Files" chapter book series.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I focus on integration and teaching to a variety of learning styles.
