I taught French for fourteen years at the high school level. My first two years, I taught International Baccalaureate French, and I carried those high expectations and standards through to my regular classes. (If my classes could even be called regular!)
My greatest strength is relationship building, so the success of my teaching is due to the relationships I built with my students. Allowing my high-schoolers to be their weird and awkward selves was the basis of all my classes. It's hard to classify my teaching style; I can only say that I was known for being weird and fun, and strict and rigorous.
The times that students recognized my positive influence in their lives means a thousand times more than the formal recognition I received!

I resigned from teaching to be more available (physically and emotionally) to the children we are going to foster and adopt.
