I have been teaching high school math for 16 years now. I have taught in a variety of locations and settings, from urban to suburban, from charter to public, from high schools as small as 400 students to as large as 4000 students, in programs for students needing extra support, in programs for highly gifted and talented students, in both the AP and IB programs. I have taught every level of mathematics from Pre-Algebra through BC Calculus and beyond.
I strive to have students engaged and leading the lessons through dialogue and engagement in activities. When students can discover the mathematics for themselves, they develop a far greater sense of meaning. If you see me in front of the room, chances are I'm leading a game for the class.
