MY TEACHING STYLE

Aristotle once said, "Educating the mind without educating the heart, is no education at all." In my classroom we read demanding literature in an effort to develop intellectual curiosity, cognitive skills, aesthetic sensitivity, intercultural awareness, ethical sensitivity, and existential maturity. At the beginning of the year I ask students, "Can literature impact social change?" Throughout the year students work through texts, lessons, projects, and speeches to answer that question and ultimately be the change they wish to see in the world.
