TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was a middle school Social Science teacher for 5 years (2012-2017), a Reading teacher since 2015, and am currently a High School English teacher. I enjoy working with students and seeing them achieve what they believe or have been told, is the un-achievable.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Cooperative and Independent, depending on how the class is manageable. I am a trendy teacher, so I welcome new ideas and methods. If they work, cool! Otherwise, I teach my students based on what I believe is best for them and their futures.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Graduated from Belleview High in Florida in 2008. Started college at Valencia College in Florida in Jan. 2011, where I began fulfilling my interests in teaching. After graduation in May 2012, I began my bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education: Social Sciences (with a minor in Reading) in Aug. 2012 at St. Leo University in Florida. I graduated in Dec. 2015 with Honors. My current Master's education is being completed between two schools. I am attaining a US History degree from American Public University, as well as a Reading degree from St. Leo University. I expect to be complete with both by the end of Spring 2021.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

For several years I was a single mom to an amazing little girl who still surprises me daily. She is the reason I became a teacher and the reason I have been able to achieve everything I have set my mind to. Now I am engaged and have another daughter, to inspire me. We live in a small town called Ocala in Florida. Together we do as much traveling as possible and enjoy as much outdoor activity as we can get. Sometimes things do get tough, but together we always make the best of things. :)
