TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 28 years. I started in middle school for ten years and can you believe it, actually continued to teach after:) I taught 5th grade for 16 years. In 2009 I realized I wanted to focus my career on literacy so I went to 1st grade for 3 years and when a reading specialist position opened, I went for it! I have been a reading specialist/literacy coach now for 9 years in a K-5 building. I absolutely LOVE what I do. I am continually looking at new resources, new research and ways to reach and teach all learners.
