I have been teaching first grade since 2007. I've also taught in Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade. I have taught in regular ed classrooms, as well as special ed and ESOL/ELL classrooms throughout my years of teaching. I've been a literacy coach as well as a math coach in past schools. I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, and I love teaching my kiddos! Learning and teaching is so much fun!!!
Teaching should be so much fun that a student never wants to stop learning. I like to instill a love of learning in my students by making learning fun...give them educational games to play and make it fun. Also, since I didn't learn English until I was in Kindergarten, I know a lot about how English Language Learners learn. They need a lot of visuals and extra help. That's why I've decided to also include some bilingual resources in my store as well. This way, parents of ELL kids can help at home. In addition, many of my resources are differentiated. No two kids are the same, and we as teachers must differentiate our instruction to suit the needs of all kids.
I was 1st Grade Teacher of the Year in 2012 (out of 11 teachers). Also, my students have named me "The Best Teacher EVER" on many occasions. :)
