I worked as teachers aide for 10 years in self-contained special education classrooms (autism classroom and PPCD) before I became a teacher. I have been a SUCCESS teacher for a year. I love everything about working in a SpEd classroom! The small milestones that most people overlook are what we celebrate in my classroom. We have a literal "stop and smell the roses" approach in my classroom.
We have a very structured, go with the flow, classroom. Each little has their own schedule that they manage throughout the day, but are okay when their schedules are different. I thrive on being able to provide a structured schedule with a care-free twist. My littles know that the schedule may be different day to day, but they know that their schedule will tell them exactly where it's different and for how long.
I have a BS in Psychology, and am currently working on an MS in Psychology with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Development.
I am a Geek! I go to sc-fi conventions and even work at the conventions.
