We are both primary, secondary and tertiary language teachers with over 25 years experience each. We have taught Japanese and ESL in Australia and Japan and lived in Japan for over 12 years. Hans ran a language school for five years in Cairns but returned to his passion of teaching in schools two years ago.
We have a paper-free, bright and lively, communicative classroom. We use many songs in our lessons and encourage students to dance and sing along. The video clips include hiragana and kanji as well as explanations within songs which explain key points. Many songs additionally have a karaoke version so that teachers can allow students to sing by themselves and be a 'star'. Our songs align with the Australian Curriculum.
