TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In May 2018, I finished my 28th year of my teaching journey! I taught first grade for my last 13 years in the classroom and absolutely loved it. I am now taking some much needed time away from the classroom, to bring to y'all many of the fabulous resources I've had in practice in my classroom for the past few years. I am enjoying spending lots of time with my grandchildren and creating quality teaching resources for you!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I worked hard to make learning fun for my students while I planned carefully to meet their varying needs. I did this through small group instruction and hands-on learning. My motto- Keep learning fun while making every moment count!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year at Blandford Elementary School in Effingham County, Georgia.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my BA in Early Childhood Education in 1989. In 1999 I earned my MS in Curriculum and Instruction. I also earned my Gifted Education endorsement which allowed me to work with advanced first grade students.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have three daughters; Lauren is 32, Amy is 28, and my stepdaughter Taylor is 25. I also have five grandchildren; Lily is 3, Christopher is 7, Athena is 5, Noah is 4, and baby Dominic is almost 1. Plus I have three bonus grandchildren- Tyler is 9, Oliver is 7, and Wyatt is 6. In my free time, my husband Craig and I love to cruise, go camping, and spend time with our family, especially all of the grands!
