TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently an Associate Lecturer at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, where I teach Financial and Management Accounting to students who are between the ages of 16-19. A Chartered Accountant by training, I have 15 years of industry experience, firstly as an Auditor with KPMG and an Accountant with Ministry of Finance, Singapore. Both have provided me with a breadth of practical knowledge which can be harnassed to bring lesson plans to life. .

MY TEACHING STYLE

Accounting is a technical subject and understandably poses a problem to the young students lacking real world accounting and financial experience. I use experiential method of teaching to break down the abstract learning into something more FUN and relatable. The lesson are designed to suit different learning preferences to engage, energise and inspire the students. You can expect abundant use of role plays, games, quizzes, case studies etc. The idea is that with students having experienced accounting and finance first-hand, they will be able to internalise the learning effortlessly.
