I have taught freshmen and sophomore English in Kansas for eight years with a few speech/debate and creative writing courses here and there as well, and I have recently moved my talents to Missouri, where I teach sophomore Communication Arts.
I am a firm believer in teaching in a way that is relevant to students, that will help them develop strong morals and values, and in a way that is intriguing to them. If I am not meeting these guidelines, I don't believe they are getting the most out of what I am teaching.
I have been nominated for the Clyde U. Phillips award and Kansas Teacher of the Year.

In addition to teaching, I have had the opportunity to sponsor Student Council, Scholars Bowl, and a student-based International travel program in which we had the opportunity to travel to London, Costa Rica, and are headed to Belize in 2017. I enjoy helping my students develop new ideas for volunteer activities in school and in the community and am an avid supporter of helping my students grow and succeed through travel. Outside of school, I have been married for seven years and now have the opportunity to teach with my husband at my new high school. We also are lucky to have two cool kids: our son, Kase, who is three, and our daughter, Kolbie, who is five.
