TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for five years in both the states of New Jersey and Texas. Over the course of five years I've been a co-teacher in a British Literature class, teacher of a self-contained MD classroom, a World History general education teacher and also a U.S. History general education teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style relies heavily on scaffolding, differentiation, and making note taking fun and interactive. Most of my notes sets come with the following: PowerPoint with designated words underlined to go with the guided notes, a reading/independent assignment, and then an exit ticket. Each activity is modeled after Madeline Hunter's lesson plan style including the "I do," "you do," "we do." Most of the lessons have been designed to help students pass the end of year assessment called the STAAR Test for US History since 1877.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated for the Outstanding Teacher Award of the Humanities for Sam Houston Math Science and Technology Center in the 2015-2016 school year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to a community college in New Jersey for two years and Rowan University for two years on a scholarship called New Jersey Stars. My degrees are in Education, History, and an endorsement in Special Education.
