I have been teaching since 1992. I started out as a junior high school language arts teacher. Thirteen years ago, I became a technology coordinator. I support my fellow teachers, and my 575+ bilingual students, in all things technology. After school, two days a week, I am the adviser to a Jewelry Design Club. Our club has nearly 40 members from our 5, 6, 7 and 8th grade. Everything we make comes from recycled, re-purposed, or re-imagined materials.
I learn by doing; I teach by having others doing, too. I learn visually, and I teach visually.
I have won the New Jersey Governor's Teacher of the Year award. I also received Teacher of the Year at the Junior High School where I once taught. A few years ago, I was selected Outstanding Educator by a local Metropolitan Business Association, that serves our local community.
•B.A. in Communications, Glassboro State College •M.A. in Educational Public Relations, Rowan University •Received my N - 8 teaching certificate from Stockton State College, in a joint effort with the State Department Provisional Teacher Program. •Continue to take classes in jewelry design, bead techniques, and metal smithing, from a local cultural group.
Happily married since 1990, I have two great kids, ages 19, and 17. I also call myself mother to a very merry Chocolate Cocker Spaniel named Kona. I live and teach near the shore....and when I'm not there, you will find me on a beach or on our boat! My email address is funstuff4teachers@gmail.com
