TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As an inner-city teacher, I had to be resourceful as I usually didn't have curriculum. I also learned the importance of creating resources that were both creative and clear in order to keep students intellectually engaged. I have experience teaching fifth grade general education teacher, as well as fifth grade science and writing in a departmentalized school. In my spare time I tutor students in elementary math and high school French!

MY TEACHING STYLE

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2014, my 5th graders had the SECOND highest science growth out of ALL DC Public Schools. Additionally, I ranked in the highly effective category, using the DCPS performance assessment. This is the highest possible ranking a teacher can receive, and approximately only 30% of teachers receive this ranking.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I created the items in my store using online research, my own master's research, colleague conversations, and master educator conversations. Everything you see posted has been taught in a classroom, and was then further tweaked based upon my observations with my own students. I take pride in my resources and I hope you find them as useful as I did. If you are NOT satisfied with a purchase, please let me know and I would be happy to customize it.
