Geek powered teaching is not about being a geeky teacher or even "geeking out" over teaching. There are four basic principles that guide geek powered teachers: Geek powered teachers have an intense passion that drives what they do in the classroom, Providing students with the tools and opportunities for success is their reason for going to work everyday. Geek powered teachers look for what students express interest in or "geek out" over and create ways for students to connect to learning through those interest. Geek powered teachers are knowledgeable, not only in their subject areas, but also in the art of teaching and abilities of their students. Geek powered teachers are life-long learners that promote the value of education to their students, coworkers, families, friends, and anyone else that will listen.
