I teach media studies and journalism at a university in New York. But for fun I draw cartoons. I remember the first time I doodled. It was in the 7th grade when my Spanish teacher had to leave the room briefly to attend to an administrative matter. My pencil suddenly developed a life of its own. And there I was, drawing a cartoon girl with glasses. I think she looked like me. I've been doodling ever since. One of my favorite things to do is to draw cartoon versions of family and friends.
I enjoy creating an environment where discussion and critical thinking can flow freely.
