I have been teaching for twelve years both in public and private schools in NJ and FL. I have a love for learning and have been called a lifelong learner, which would explain why I would love to be a professional student! I have taught a variety of subjects including: Literature, English, Language Arts, Writing and even Ancient Civilizations, but my favorite is Writing and Literature~ especially the classics, which withstand the test of time.
I am a hands-on, project based facilitator and make learning an event, not a task. I teach the standards of course, but my flair for creativity really works to motivate students to do their best! I believe in group learning and facilitation, lots of differentiated assignments which equates to organized fun for my students. I vowed when I became a teacher to never be like the ones I had, and I think I mastered this goal in the past 12 years!

Initially, I wanted to become a Criminal Psychologist, but after working in the field for an internship, I knew that wasn't my best choice. I graduated Drexel University, a private university in Philadelphia, PA with my degree in Psychology and went into treating traumatically brain injured children and adults for a number of years. I obtained another degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, but that didn't interest me much, so on a dare I took the teaching exam cold turkey and passed with flying colors. After teaching for a number of years, I decided to obtain another degree in Reading and Literacy across the Content Area, so who knows? Maybe it's time for yet another... this time I'm thinking Interior Desgin because I love decorating!...We'll see!
